SoulCollage® Workshops with Rebecca Sheikh

SoulCollage® Workshops

What it is:

You create a card by cutting and collaging images from magazines and other sources onto card stock. Each card represents a different aspect of yourself your inner committee, so to speak.

How it works:

The images you're drawn to are believed to reflect parts of your subconscious, inner archetypes, or life experiences. Once a card is made, you can "read" it by speaking from the image using the prompt "I am one who…"

What makes it special is that it's not about making "art" it's about listening to your intuition. There's no right or wrong. The practice is used therapeutically, in group settings, and as a personal journalling/reflection tool.

I

Session Flow

  • I create a calm, welcoming atmosphere often with music, a brief meditation or grounding exercise to help participants slow down and arrive fully.

  • A short explanation of the practice for those who are new what SoulCollage® is, how the cards work, and reassurance that no artistic skill is needed.

  • Participants browse through a big pile of pre-cut magazine images and simply pick out whatever draws them without overthinking it. The guidance is to let images choose you rather than searching for something specific.

  • Images are arranged and glued onto card stock. This part is intuitive and meditative there's no template to follow.

  • Once complete, participants are invited to reflect on what they've made, often using the "I am one who…" prompt to give voice to the card.

  • In a group setting, participants can share their card and what came up for them though this is never obligatory.
