What are parenting classes and why choose Pathways to Flourish?
Parenting classes offer support in the incredible, although challenging, task of parenting. They can help enhance your knowledge and give you the confidence to help your child grow into whoever they were meant to be. You will learn the fundamentals of parenting, discover how to engage in their worlds and feel more confident. Jane Barlow and Esther Coren when researching ‘The effectiveness of Parenting Programmes discovered that, ‘the findings show that parenting programs are effective in improving the emotional and behavioral adjustment of children in addition to enhancing the psychosocial well-being of parents.’
At Flourishing Childhood we have partnered with Pathways to Potential to offer a 12 session Parenting Programme called Pathways to Flourish. Parenting can’t be tackled in 1 session, it needs time, support and a space for parents to feel heard and empowered.
In our programme we look at the different types of parenting and support parents in using a more democratic approach in their parenting. We also provide an online platform where you can find a supportive community with children’s and parents well-being at the core.
Our extensive programme will leave you feeling well informed and reassured in the latest understanding of attachment and trauma informed care of children. The fact that you are reading this means you are committed to breaking down generational patterns and creating more joy and balance in your families. Research shows how effective attending parenting classess can be to families and it can be life changing to realise we are not alone in this enormous task. It has been shown that "Parent education reduces the risk of child abuse and neglect by encouraging positive parenting practices that promote safety, well-being, and permanency for children and families."
Advantages of attending our parenting programme are:
An opportunity to find a more democratic approach for a deeper parent and child bond.
