Therapeutic Play
I am currently completing my therapeutic play practitioner training and Jungian sandplay therapy training and available to work in schools from September 2022.
Therapeutic Play is a method of helping children with behaviour and emotional problems to help themselves. Play is the child’s natural medium of self expression - it’s essential for development. It provides an opportunity to ‘play out ‘ their feelings and problems and empowers children to cope with problems in their lives and increases their self esteem. Therapeutic play improves the emotional wellbeing of the child. It can be used to alleviate a mild emotional or psychological problem that is preventing the child from functioning normally. In sandplay therapy children are invited to create three-dimensional pictures in sand trays using miniature objects or figures with a trained therapist present. It is an expressive, non-verbal, creative approach.
